pulcinella and the magic case
Pulcinella Citrullo is in love with the beautiful Teresina, daughter of the hotel owner Don Pancrazio Codadivacca and engaged to be married to the young landowner Don Felice Sciosciammocca, a pensioner at the hotel. Pulcinella, disguised as a woman, lodges at the hotel to be able to discover the secret of his rival’s wealth. It is midnight and Pulcinella, hiding behind a curtain, sees Don Felice invoking none other than the devil!!!
Amidst twists and turns, disguises, magic potions, real and fake devils, a complicated plot unravels and Pulcinella will descend into the underworld like a mythological hero.

The Compagnia degli Sbuffi is a Production and Promotion Centre for Figure and Street Theatre founded in 1987 in Castellammare di Stabia (Naples) by Aldo de Martino and Violetta Ercolano.
It produces shows, workshops, festivals, and among its many activities it also offers teacher training courses, editorial publishing, exhibitions and conferences: all elements of a single artistic project to take stock in Naples of figure theatre and its multiple relations with contemporary society.
