Followed by a Q&A session with the actresses on the genesis of the showuseful
Entering into a relationship: at first a mystery, something unknown and enclosed. Then, entering into the relationship, coming together, getting to know each other, trusting and relying on each other. Sometimes in this relationship someone hides or isolates themselves, with the wish to disappear but also to be found again.
For young children in particular, creating a solitary hideaway can mean opening a window of freedom but also experiencing separation. And things don’t always go as planned… The research for the creation of the new show Solonauta revolves around these themes, which will then be explored in the workshop.
After winning last year’s Cantiere project and presenting the play Louis at the Alpe Adria Puppet Festival, Carola Maternini and Elisa Sarchi are now offering a script aimed at younger children and inspired by them. The show is in fact the result of workshops held in nursery schools in Pavia and Milan, where the actresses sought suggestions for themes to address fears and anxieties through theatre.
Alongside this experience, experimentation with materials and forms was developed, which formed the basis for the creation of marionettes and puppets, objects of study used during a spring artistic residency in Gorizia.
