It is well known that the cat in the fairy tale is the poor inheritance that a miller leaves to one of his sons: a very meagre inheritance, it can be said, but instead the kitten turns out to be smart and charming to the extent that he will enrich his master ‘with his work and talent’ and will get him to marry the king’s daughter.

Founded and directed by Mario Mirabassi, Tieffeu-Teatro Figura Umbro became a cultural association in 1989 and runs the Teatro di Figura Perugia, an Arena for summer performances annexed to the theatre, and a Puppet Museum (MUMA Perugia).
The company annually produces several theatrical performances that are staged in Italy and abroad, and for the past 33 years has also been organising the International Festival of Animated Figures “Figuratevi” in Perugia, one of the best-known events in the industry in Europe. Throughout the year it promotes and organises several Theatre Seasons and Festivals for children and adults, also with an extensive attention to educational activities.
