I TRE PORCELLINI (THE THREE LITTLE PIGS)

The Compagnia Granteatrino from Bari is back at Alpe Adria Puppet Festival. The company specialises in productions aimed at a children audience.

On stage is “I tre porcellini” (“Three little pigs”), theatrical piece based on an ancient English popular fable conveying a deep teaching: only working hard and with perseverance one can achieve steady and lasting results.

Through the years the Company has worked with the aim of rescuing and promoting the heritage of popular Puppet Theatre, working side by side with well established scenographers, authors, illustrators, and sculptors. First among everyone, the scenographer and illustrator Emanuele Luzzati, with whom Granteatrino has established a deep connection through the character of Pulcinella.  Luzzati himself created the Company’s logo, a stylised Pulcinella standing in front of a tiny trullo. The Genoese maestro is also the author of the stage sketches for many plays and playbills.

Puppets animated in real time looking real, music and captivating songs, tiny houses assembling and disassembling on stage before the amused eyes of the audience, and much more. These are the ingredients of a staging that, thanks to an original sprung rhythm, comes alive with the passionate and joyful participation of audiences of all ages.

The “moral” remains intact, but we chose to prioritise the inexhaustible energy of good humour, of laughter, of comic timing in which, as always, children confirm to be the incomparable maestri.
