Dromosofia (Dromosophy) is a made up word (combining the two Greek words dromo = road and sophy = wisdom) that refers strongly to the great potential of the road as the place par excellence of convergence and exchange between cultures.
It’s no coincidence that the theatre Company originates from the encounter between Rugiada, Timoteo and Tommaso Grignani - who grew up in the Girovago e Rondella Family Theater, learning since their childhood the expertise of popular and poetic Puppetry - with siblings Facundo e Santiago Moreno, who moved at a very young age from Buenos Aires to Genova, where they begun busking in the streets and carruggi.
Today Dromosofista is not only a philosophy, but also a reality: imagine a TheatreVan equipped with everything you need to carry 35 spectators to a world at the “Antipodes”. A surreal journey on a miniature horse, amongst dazed characters and tiny men-shadow running; between puppetry, shadow play, and physical theatre.
The Dromosofista Theatre Company conveys the street culture where it takes its origin, fully expressing the love towards movement and travel, intended as an artistic journey but even more so as an existential one. Each of their gestures expresses the absence of boundaries, just as their style and poetics do, too.
