Angiolina lives in the countryside with her crow friend, Gigetto. One morning, she decides to knead some bread, but she has run out of flour; so they decide to leave the house in search of a wheat field. The two companions discover, however, that the surrounding area is dismissed and dried up. And so begins their journey of discovery into the complex and extraordinary world of nature and its elements, through dialogue and exchange with the inhabitants of the earth.

The show is a production by Is Mascareddas, a company founded by Antonio Murru and Donatella Pau in 1980. The core idea behind their work is that puppet theatre is real theatre in every sense, with the same dignity as live-actor theatre.
Right from the start, Is Mascareddas played a key role in spreading and raising awareness of figure theatre in Sardinia by creating and staging projects, festivals, and events featuring both Italian and international companies. In 1999, the company opened the Biblioteca Yorick, which has become one of Europe’s most important collections of text and document archives on puppet and figure theatre, thanks to its nearly 4,000 volumes, books, and magazines from all over the world.”
