Transport project

“Transport” project, led by Slovenian director Tin Grabnar, is an international co-production uniting six theaters from Slovenia, Poland, Estonia, Lithuania, and the Czech Republic in the 2024/2025 season.
Through six unique productions, the project examines transport’s dual role as a driver of globalisation and a source of environmental harm.
While celebrating transport’s benefits—cultural diversity and economic growth—the project delves into its environmental toll, urging sustainable and responsible global development. Each standalone performance addresses contemporary issues, and as a series or puppet theatre omnibus, highlights their interconnectedness.
With hyper-realistic visuals and immersive soundscapes, the productions confront audiences with the realities of ecological crises, wars, resource depletion, and cultural identity loss. Additionally, the project critically evaluates the environmental impact of theater production, incorporating sustainable touring practices.
The Transport project has developed a model that enables more environmentally friendly hosting of theatre performances. Each staging is designed as a compact and self-contained production of small dimensions that can be easily packed into shipping containers that can be carried out by public postal services, which significantly reduces the impact on the environment.
