the crisis of imagination
What would happen if one day imagination disappeared?
The Crisis of Imagination addresses this theme with a contemporary circus, dance and figure theatre performance, during which two characters immerse the spectators in a world that is both dreamlike and tragicomic at the same time, where the movements of the body are the main characters in a fantastical story, in which we question the boundaries of the possible and the impossible.
Direction and dramatisation: Xavi Sánchez e Analía Serenelli
Music: Jesus Acebedo

The performance is part of the Art&Puppets Project; an initiative designed to promote a new, “borderless” approach to puppetry and live contemporary art. It is specifically aimed at the cross-border region of Gorizia and Nova Gorica.
The Art&Puppets (ARTPUP) project is funded by the European Union through the GO! 2025 Small Project Fund of the Interreg VI-A Italy-Slovenia 2021-2027 Programme, managed by the EGTC GO.

Founded in Catalonia in 2017, the Rauxa company is formed by Xavi Sánchez and Analía Serenelli, contemporary circus artists, groundbreaking in their approach to object and puppet theatre. After meeting in the French company Cirque Plume, they created their ‘ensemble’ using an innovative body language where circus, dance and physical theatre intersect. This is coupled with an innovative approach to puppetry, driven by their wish to convey their own tragicomic and poetic vision of life, aiming to arouse the audience’s deepest emotions.
